Installation
Install nebflow with a one-line script — on macOS, Linux, and Windows.
nebflow installs with a single command from your terminal, on macOS, Linux, and Windows. The script resolves the latest version, installs any missing dependencies, and sets up the nebflow command for you.
System requirements
- macOS, Linux, or Windows
- Java 21+ — the installer checks for it and points you at a JDK if it is missing (Temurin 21 or an OpenJDK 21+ works)
curlorwgeton macOS / Linux; PowerShell on Windows- An internet connection
Install
macOS / Linux
Stable:
curl -fsSL https://nebflow.space/install.sh | sh
Beta (prerelease, for early access to new features):
curl -fsSL https://nebflow.space/install-beta.sh | sh
Windows (PowerShell)
Stable:
irm https://nebflow.space/install.ps1 | iex

What the script does
- Resolves the latest release version automatically — no version to pick by hand
- Checks for JDK 21+ and downloads the nebflow JAR to
~/.nebflow/bin; on Windows, a missing JDK 21 is installed automatically - Installs ripgrep for search support (optional enhancement)
- Creates the
nebflowcommand and adds~/.nebflow/binto yourPATH - Creates a default config at
~/.nebflow/nebflow.json
Verify
Run the help command — a healthy install prints version and usage:
nebflow --help
Then start the client:
nebflow start
Options
On macOS / Linux, the installer accepts a few flags:
--beta— install the latest beta (prerelease) build instead of stable--cn— download from the China (COS) mirror first--global— default: download from GitHub first, COS mirror as fallback
Uninstall
Run uninstall.sh (macOS / Linux) or uninstall.ps1 (Windows) from the repo.
